School starts soon

Wow, I can’t believe it that it’s already the end of summer here. Our kids will go back to school on monday. It would be a start for us to be busy. Our kids have to wake up at 5:30am because they had to be in school by 7:40am, be there till 3:30pm. Since the Bankerohan bridge was damaged I am not sure what time would the carpool guy pick them up. I have to talk to him about the schedule. It really worries me that the kids might have to get up earlier than 5:30 now due to the damage of the bridge. I hope not though. I heard talks from the taxi driver that it might take like two years for the bridge to be fix. Gosh, that would really be a headache for the commuters because the traffic is gonna be heavy every morning especially when school starting. Hopefully the government officials will do something in their power to have the bridge fix soon. Let’s just cross our fingers I guess.

I was watching the news awhile ago aand saw people just flock to the mall and buy the school supplies and uniforms. They also hit some bargains. I am gonna be one of those people. I will shop tomorrow. ;-). Hey I am just trying to save some more, as you know the prices here really hits high almost double and more on some stuff since we move here seven years ago. Happy shopping to all of you that lives here in the Philippines.

Good luck to everyone.

Sad/ Happy Day

It was a sad day for us yesterday. Gladys, the manager of our company www.wowphilippines.com who has been with us for seven years just left yesterday to go to the States. She will be marrying Carlo, who is from New Mexico. It’s really hard to say goodbye to her. She’s just like a daughter to me and Bob. When Gladys started working with us she was just few months shy of graduating for her college. As a typical filipina, she’s very shy and naive. Now I’m proud to say that she’s like a sophistacated lady, very mature in mind, very intelligent woman. I’m really happy seeing her grown a lot in knowledge upon working here with us.

We really had a mixed feelings. We are sad that she’s leaving, but happy at the same time because she now starts to face the new chapter in her life. I’m really happy that we are part of who you are now Gladys. As always we are here whenever you need us. You can call us anytime. Goodluck to you and Carlo. Have a good life in New Mexico. We really love you. We already missed you.

Happy Mother’s Day!

To all the Mom out there Happy, Happy Mother’s Day. I hope you guys have a good mother’s day. I received a message from somebody last sunday and said that ” Motherhood is a tough 24 hour job: No pay, No day off, most often unappreciated; and yet resignation is impossible!”. It’s kind of funny and true, but you know what it’s very rewarding when our kids say I love you and give a hug. At least they gave us one day off. ๐Ÿ˜‰ That’s all that matter.

Travelling

Lately Bob and I have been travelling around Mindanao. I like it because I learn more and more about Mindanao while we go to different places. We meet up lots of people along the way too. We also tried some of the food that the place is famous for.

Bob and I just got back a week ago from Tugaya in Lanao Del Sur. It was really a fun trip. Seeing those people from that place makes moro kris, brass ware, wooden drums and furnitures was more fun. I think its 99% of the people that live there are muslims. They really are nice people. Our guide is a doctor, he lives and practice in Marawi. I would not recommend to anybody to just go to Tugaya without knowing anybody there. For safety reasons. You have to have a guide that knows that area. We stayed in Iligan for two nights, we meet up with our friends there too. Our friends had a party ready for us the night before we head home to Davao. It was so nice seeing them again. I love you guys.

On our way home we also hook up some friends in Cagayan De Oro and Bukidnon.

Try Cooking

Today my son was asking me if we can cook. I told him yeah. We will try to cook this new recipe that I got last night. It’s churro. Costco has it before when we still lived there. Hopefully it will turn out good though when we make it. I will cook lots of stuff and I will share the recipe if it will taste good. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I will post some recipies here sometimes.

I will also post some decorating ideas here sometimes, since that’s really my passion. I will put some good pictures too. Hope you like it.
